The First thing that a viewer see’s when they log onto this MySpace page is the advertising for the singer’s latest single ‘Remember December’. This is accompanied by the recognisable font spelling ‘Demi Lovato’ that was also used on her album cover. This font has a handwritten feel with a heart for the dot on the ‘I’. This is then contrasted to the bold, stencil like golden letters for ‘Remember December’ which creates the idea of something slightly different to what has previously been released by the artist but still something that you’ll like due to the continuity of the artists font but not for the song title. The text also lines up and so the ‘ember’ of each word are positioned exactly below one another which creates more sense of digitally printed text.
The Picture to the left of the text is a medium shot/close up shot of Demi in front of a microphone. She is wearing a black leather jacket and black gloves with gold studs on them. In a sense this could be portrayed as more of a punk or rock genre, however, the hair, make-up and girly fonts all edge towards the idea of a pop-rock genre. Below this there is the new singles video which is immediately seen and so is instantly promoting the artists new track.
The background of the MySpace page is predominantly black with the addition of two bright pink chequered segments on either side with a long shot of Demi appearing to be on stage performing. This again adds to the rock genre with the dark colouring but the pink brings it back to pop, resembling how her music is a constant mix of the two popular genres.

Here the gold, pink and black colour scheme is continued here to promote and reflect the colours of the new single. The album is being advertised to buy on iTunes with the iTunes logo in order to make it look as official and professional as possible. The reason that it is not advertising the single is because that has not been released yet and so there would not currently be a link to the iTunes page for it.
Below this the contrasting fonts continue with the more essential text in the bold letters and other text in a hand written font. Other fonts are used for the brand names in order for them to be more recognisable and again professional looking. The mixture of all these fonts creates a sense of quirkiness and individuality to Demi Lovato’s Character and resembles the idea of the mixture between the two genres that she portrays (pop and rock).

The next part of her MySpace page consists of a pop out music player with all of her most famous tracks and obviously the new single, 'Remember December' in order to promote the artist. This will also create insentive for the target audience to visit the website as it has the opportunity to promote new singles and tour dates or anything else that needs to be promoted. Below this there is a similar section but for her video's. This will obviously make the song more interesting and if a person is on the web then they are more likely to be wanting to watch a video rather than just having music playing in the background. It will also build on Demi's star image and profile.
The background or layout for the MySpace page is the same as above which creates a sense of continuity and makes it less confusing and busy. The dark black background is creating the rock sense but it also emphasizes the bright pink and gold fonts, making the page more eye catching and memorable. The pink brings back the sense of Demi Lovato being a pop singer which is reflected in most of her videos.

This section has an image of the album cover which again is promoting the artist. Next to this there is a live tour dates section, which currently has no dates, however, it is obviously a useful thing to have for when a large tour is announced. With this there are also links to ticket websites where fans can purchase their ticket. This will make them more likely to buy them as it is very simple and they are likely to find out in plenty of time before the actual gig.
Below this there is a blog section which currently has blogs promoting the new CD and asking and explaining to fans how and where they can vote for her. This makes the blog a lot more personal, even though she does not necessarily post the blogs herself, it still offers something that the fans will not see anywhere else and keeps them constantly updated with what is happening for the star, which appears to be something that younger fans are more interested in, especially with the pop genre.

Finally there is a further promotional strip down the left hand side of the page oppisite to fan comments where they can leave messages for Demi. This appears to be very popular for the younger audience. The promotional advertisments all include links to where her album can be purchased, watching live performances and a link to her online store.
The layout is again continued throughout the whole of the page.
This analysis has been very helpful as the genre is very similar to the song that we have chosen as is the star image, however, we are not so much going for the pop-rock look, but more quirky-pop and so we will need to consider what would need to be altered in order to make it fit the genre.
